Continue To Pray For This Govt – Lady Fubara, Deputy Gov, Odu Charge Women

Women have been charged not to neglect the power of effectual prayers to change situations positively.

The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Prof. Ndozi Nma Odu and the Wife of Rivers State Governor, Lady Valerie Fubara gave the admonition at the Rivers Women Converge 2024 organized by the Rivers Women Unite for SIM at the Main Bowl of Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Center, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt on Today

The wife of the governor emphasised that prayer and praise attract the presence of God to do wonders among the living. Drawing from the book of Isaiah chapter 7 verses 5 and 7 Lady Fubara noted that no matter the counsel of the enemies, God has said such counsel will neither stand, nor come to pass.

“Please our women, I want to plead with each and every one of us, we will not stop praying, we will continue to pray. Prayer makes things better and faster. As we are here praying, the spirit of God is already ahead of us.”

“For me, I am not moved by the antics of the devil. I don’t work by sight I work by faith and my faith never fails, God never fails.”

Also speaking at the event the Rivers State Deputy Governor, Professor Ngozi Nma Odu noted that the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara will continue to uphold the welfare of Rivers people especially as it concerns women of the State.

Prof Odu, emphasised that it is the determination of Rivers State government to put Rivers people first and ensure that the rights and welfare of women are protected.

She asked the women to continue to pray for the government under Governor Siminalayi Fubara to succeed to enable him give the State purposeful leadership and commended the women for their concerted prayers.

In his health awareness programme, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Save A Life Mission Hospital, Port Harcourt, Dr. Richard Okoye charged the women to always be conscious of their health and avoid bitterness as it contributes to weakening their immune system.

He emphasised that God has given them power through prayers but should endeavour to also attend to their health in order to live healthy.

Also, the Executive Secretary, Rivers State Contributory Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Vetty Agala admonished the women to take advantage of the Rivers State Contributory Health Insurance Scheme, adding that Governor Siminalayi Fubara has approved free health coverage for pregnant women and children under five years while a special package called SIM Jara only cost enrollee N15,000 to access healthcare services for one year

The event witnessed cutting of 7 years anniversary cake and high praises from renowned Gospel Artists which include Preye Odede, Ipirinye Brown, ONELGA Chioma, Minister Alle, Peter Stone Cold and Lady IB. Those who ministered the word of God include Mrs. Preye Oarhe and Mrs. Uloma Saya-Braide

Other activities at the Converge include product exhibitions from the 23 Local Government Areas and free health checks by the Save A Life Mission Hospital.
