The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, has asked parents to encourage their children and wards to take part in the ongoing police recruitment screening.

Dr. Meribole made this call when he visited the screening center at the Police Service Commission Mess. He monitored the exercise and praised the officials for being professional and well-organized.
The SSG, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in his office, Dr. Godwin Okezuo, said he was worried about the low number of people who came for the screening.
He urged parents, traditional rulers, and community leaders to encourage young people who are qualified to complete their registration and take part in the process.
Also speaking, the Director of Police Discipline at the Police Service Commission, Ferdinand Ekpe, said the exercise was going on smoothly but complained about the low turnout. He asked for more awareness to help increase participation.

In her remarks, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Maureen Chilaka, said everything had been properly arranged to ensure the screening goes well.
She explained that security personnel were well prepared, and participants were advised to behave properly and follow all instructions.
Chilaka also said that the Police Public Relations Department had earlier shared information about the recruitment through radio and social media to inform people about the process, dates, and venues.
In the same way, the spokesperson of the Police Service Commission, Torty Njoku Kalu, advised applicants who have problems printing their ID slips to send their acknowledgement slips to the official email (info@psc.gov.ng) so they can be invited for physical and document screening.

Some applicants, including Nwaka Prince and Eluwa Favour, said they chose to join the Nigeria Police Force because they want to help protect lives and property in society.
