Clerics, including the Lead Pastor of Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze, and the Founder of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), London, Matthew Ashimolowo, on Sunday, applauded the developmental strides of the Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti.
The Clerics described recent improvements in Abia’s infrastructure as evidence of purposeful and visionary leadership.
The commendations came as Governor Otti, in company of his wife, Lady Priscilla Otti, attended the dedication of the new auditorium of Streams of Joy International along Ikot-Ekpene Road in Umuahia.
Pastor Eze while introducing Governor Otti as a guest of honour in his church expressed joy at what he described as visible transformation across the state, particularly in road infrastructure.
The Cleric who noted that he had been away from Abia for about a year, said he was pleasantly surprised at the level of development he met on his return.
He added that the transformation being witnessed across the state reflected what good governance should entail and expressed hope that more democracy dividends were in the offing.
“I am being honest. I was telling the young man i came with, I know how the terrain is. This is how much I believe that governance should look like.
“For us to do this and have our Governor here is also a belief in what the Governor is doing.
“See eh, the roads are working. I am happy to be from Abia State. And many good things I believe are still ahead of us”, Pastor Eze stated.
In his Sermon, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, also commended Governor Otti’s leadership, describing it as a sign of righteous governance and assured that greater accomplishments were still to come.
Pastor Ashimolowo who took his text from Ezekiel 37:7, assured worshippers that “everything God has said would come to pass”.
Pastor Ashimolowo urged members of Streams of Joy International to sustain the church’s vision and support the Ministry through intercession.
In his address, Governor Otti congratulated the church on the success of its 2026 RUN Conference and the dedication of its new auditorium.
The Governor described the new church edifice as reflective of the new standards being promoted in the State.
“I want to congratulate you. This is beautiful, and it is consistent with the taste of those of us who are the young ones. You know what I mean? This is consistent with the new Abia.
“So I just want to say thank you and congratulate you for everything that you have done. Congratulations, streams of joy”, Governor Otti stated.
Governor Otti also used the opportunity to congratulate the wife of the Lead Pastor, Streams of Joy International and Chairman of the Abia State Civil Service Commission, Pastor Enoh Jerry-Eze, on her birthday and expressed appreciation to members of the church for their sustained prayers for his administration.
He reiterated that his administration’s mission was to restore the dignity of Abians and pledged that more democratic dividends would be delivered.
