The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Umunneochi LGA Chapter, has honoured the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Abia State Governor on Due Process, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu, with an Award of Excellence and recognition as Patron, in appreciation of his contributions to the development of Umunneochi and support for grassroots governance.
The award presentation, held yesterday (Tuesday, November 11, 2025), in Umuahia, drew the leadership and executive members of the union. The delegation was led by the Chairman of NULGE Umunneochi Chapter, Engr. Comrade Kingsley Ajala, alongside members of the executive council and a former chapter chairman, Comrade Uba Chibueze.
Speaking during the presentation, Comrade Ajala applauded Dr. Chukwu’s impactful support to the Umunneochi community and his commitment to initiatives advancing socio-economic growth.

He also commended Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, for prioritizing the welfare of workers, especially through the consistent payment of salaries and policies strengthening local government administration.
“This award recognizes your meaningful contributions to Umunneochi and your unwavering support for development-driven initiatives that benefit our people,” Ajala said.
In his remarks, the Due Process Bureau Chief, Dr. Chukwu expressed gratitude to NULGE for the honour, describing it as further inspiration to remain committed to serving Abia State and supporting developmental programmes that uplift communities.
He lauded Governor Otti for fostering an enabling environment that promotes transparency, efficiency, and people-oriented governance.
“I am deeply grateful for this recognition,” Dr. Chukwu said.

According to him: “It is a call to greater service and a reminder of our shared responsibility in advancing Abia’s progress. I sincerely appreciate Governor Alex Otti for the platform to contribute to the ongoing transformation of our state.”
Dr. Chukwu further urged union members to continue supporting Governor Otti’s transformational agenda, noting that development projects are ongoing across all parts of the state.
“Let us sustain this development as no part of the state is being left behind. Construction and reforms are taking place in every nook and cranny of Abia. I encourage you to keep standing with the Governor as we work together to build a stronger, prosperous state for all”, Chukwu further noted.
