UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Messi’s Brace Break Liverpool

Lionel Messi scored two second half goals as Barcelona head into next Tuesday’s semi-finals second leg with a comfortable 3-0 lead against Liverpool.

Luis Suarez opened the scoring on the 26th minute. The match became a ding dong affair until the end of the first half.

The second half resumed with great intensity especially from Liverpool as they frantically search for an equalizer.

Against the run of play, Barcelona doubled their lead through Lionel Messi on the 75th minute. On the 82nd minute, Messi fired a free-kick into the top right corner of the net to complete the routing.

The score line does not really reflect Liverpool’s spirited effort. They have one more chance at Amfield to determine if they will reach their second final in two years.
