Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has praised Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for his exemplary conduct and dedication to duty during his tenure as Commissioner of Police in the state.
Fubara made the commendation on Tuesday while receiving Disu at Government House, Port Harcourt, describing his visit as a homecoming for a police chief who distinguished himself while serving in Rivers.
The governor said Disu demonstrated professionalism and integrity during a challenging period marked by political tensions in the state, noting that his commitment to his constitutional duties earned him recognition and respect.
He described the IGP’s elevation to the nation’s highest police office as a deserved reward for meritorious service, stressing the importance of discipline and dedication in public service.
Fubara also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the police and other security agencies in their efforts to sustain peace and protect lives and property in Rivers State.
He wished Disu success in his national assignment, particularly as the country approaches the 2027 general elections, expressing hope that his leadership would strengthen security and promote public confidence in the police.
