The Managing Director of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, Engr. Dr. Peer Lubasch, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, for accelerating infrastructure development and reshaping Abuja into a more modern and functional capital city.
Lubasch gave the commendation during a gala dinner held to mark the end of 31 consecutive days of project flag-offs and commissioning ceremonies organised as part of the Abuja@50 celebrations.
He said the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has demonstrated strong commitment to infrastructure renewal through the delivery of strategic roads, bridges and public facilities that are improving mobility, enhancing service delivery and stimulating economic activities across the territory.
According to him, residents of the FCT are the greatest beneficiaries of the ongoing projects, which are not only improving the quality of life but also strengthening Abuja’s position as one of Africa’s leading planned cities.
The Julius Berger boss also lauded President Tinubu for prioritising infrastructure under the Renewed Hope Agenda, describing the administration’s investment in public works as a clear demonstration of its commitment to national development.
He singled out Wike for commendation, saying the minister had injected fresh momentum into Abuja’s development through the completion of abandoned projects and the execution of new infrastructure across the capital.
Reflecting on Abuja’s 50-year journey, Lubasch noted that the city has evolved from undeveloped terrain into a globally recognised capital, adding that the renewed pace of infrastructure delivery has restored public confidence in its development.
He described the gala dinner as a celebration of leadership, professionalism and collaboration, paying tribute to engineers, construction workers, consultants, institutions and residents whose contributions have shaped the growth of the nation’s capital.
Reaffirming Julius Berger’s longstanding role in Abuja’s development, Lubasch said the company remains committed to supporting the city’s future through quality engineering, urban renewal and sustainable infrastructure.
He also acknowledged the contributions of other construction firms and industry stakeholders, stressing that despite healthy competition, they share a common goal of delivering projects that promote national development.
