President Tinubu Approves Construction of 1,000 Houses in 7 States – VP Kashim Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Friday revealed that President Bola Tinubu has granted approval for the construction of 1,000 houses across seven northern states, including Sokoto, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kebbi, Katsina, Niger, and Benue. This announcement was made during the commissioning of projects undertaken by the Borno State Government over the past 100 days.

Mr. Olusola Abiola, the Director of Information at the Office of the Vice President, conveyed this information through an official statement. According to the statement, Shettima shared this information as he addressed attendees at the project commissioning event.

Vice President Shettima elaborated that these housing initiatives are integral to a comprehensive Federal Government strategy aimed at addressing conflicts in the northern regions of the country.

Shettima went on to reveal that President Tinubu has allocated a substantial sum of N50 billion to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to initiate the Pulaku initiative. This initiative represents a non-kinetic solution designed to tackle the crises afflicting the people of the northwest.

“President Tinubu has granted approval for the construction of 1,000 houses in Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Niger, and Benue States, complete with essential facilities such as schools, clinics, veterinary clinics, and ranches to serve the Fulani community in Kaduna and Benue states,” Vice President Shettima affirmed. He emphasized President Tinubu’s insistence that all victims be included in these initiatives.
