Work is continuing at the Osisioma Campus of Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic (OOPOLY) as the school prepares to begin academic activities at the site.
Construction workers are carrying out different jobs, including building work, painting, landscaping and other finishing touches to make the campus ready for use.
As part of the preparations, students of the Department of Welding and Fabrication have started installing 431 seats at the campus.
The work started on Monday, October 19, 2026, and is expected to end on Thursday, October 22.
The seats will provide more room for students and help create a better environment for learning.
The installation is part of the ongoing efforts to prepare the Osisioma Campus for academic activities. Several buildings and other facilities are also nearing completion.
The management of the Polytechnic, speaking through the Head of the Department of Welding and Fabrication, expressed hope that the campus would soon be ready for students.
The management thanked Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, for his support and commitment to the campus project.
It also praised the Rector of the Polytechnic, Engr. Okoro, for his hard work and efforts to ensure that the project moves forward.
The installation of the 431 seats shows that students of the Department of Welding and Fabrication are also playing a role in developing their school.
The project will also allow the students to practise the skills they have learnt in the classroom by working on a real project that will benefit the institution.
