LG Poll: Oru East in for socioeconomic excellence with Nze Onyeaka
The quest for socio-economic excellence in Oru-East LGA of Imo state would appear brighter, if the electorate unanimously adopt and elect Nze Celestine Onyeaka, as the Chairman in the forthcoming Local Government chairmanship poll.
To this end, a progressive group which promotes good governance known as Team Onyeoma Movement has enjoined the APC delegates to vote, Nze Onyeaka, whom they described as a transformative leader with exceptional vision and leadership acumen, as the party’s flag bearer in the election.
Following a rigorous evaluation process embarked by the body as contained in a release made available to newsmen, the group observed the impressive tenure of Nze Onyeaka when he was the Sole Administrator of Oru-East LGA which spanned from August 17th 2022 – 16th Jan. 2024 (14months).
According to them, he showcased his effectiveness in delivering tangible results, which was made possible through the support and approval of the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Dist Sen Hope Uzodinma.
They highlighted his achievements to include: renovation of council’s block (Admin Block and Political & HODs Block); renovation of the council’s Hall; installation of Solar street light from orie Omuma market square through council headquarters road; renovation of Council’s Chapel; reconstruction of Primary Healthcare block; renovation of Primary Healthcare Pharmacy; reconstruction/renovation of INEC office Omuma; renovation of ISIEC and DSS office Omuma; and construction of parameter fencing of the council headquarters premises.
Others include: provision of palliative measures on the failed section of ontisha road at Awo-omamma junction; installation of Solar street light inside the council premises; constant renovations and beautification of council’s headquarters; rebuilt confidence in workers of the council; enhanced access to water via borehole resuscitation; promotion of youth development through football competition as directed by the Executive Governor of Imo State Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodinma; empowerment of Oru-East sons and daughters through skill up Imo project both chort 1 & 2 respectively; and through the office of the Governor of Imo State Mr. Chibuzor Nwanana house was rebuilt after it was destroyed by some non state actors
Also through the magnanimity of the State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma and the Government of Imo State, according to the findings of the group, the roads graded by Nze Onyeaka include: Ama Ighala – Ubaha etiti Omuma road; Council road to Amaodum; Nwaobodo Avenue, Umunwanzu Abia Omuma; Ozuh – Atta boundary, ozuh Omuma; Umuokpara ozuh – Amimo road; Umudioka Amiri – Umuokwe road; Awo-omamma; Ubahazu Amiri – Otulu boundary; Ubahaeze road Awo-omamma; Umubochi – Umuelibe road; Umunwafor – Umuelibe road; Orie okwuorji road; and Nchoko Amiri – Afor Awo road by St. Gregory Catholic parish.
Other roads graded include: Ubahazu – Nchoko road; Umudioka Amiri – Technical junction Awo-omamma; Awo-omamma comprehensive – Uzodinma Miri umuezukwe; Nkwusi – Ubahaeze Y junction, Awo-omamma; Ama Nguoguo – Umuifia Awo-omamma; and Umunnem road Awo-omamma.
This exemplary record, according to TEAM Onyeoma Movement, has demonstrated Nze Onyeaka’s ability to drive meaningful change and deliver democratic dividends under the “Shared Prosperity” administration of Governor Uzodinma.
The release partly read: “Hon. Celestine Onyeaka through the support of His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma restored peace and normalcy in Awo-omamma and part of the local government where insecurity was the other of the day.
“He has promised to consolidate on the good works executed by the State government and to deliver more projects and development in our Local government if elected as the Executive Chairman of Oru-East LGA.
“Hon. Celestine Nnamdi Onyeaka has an exceptional character, wisdom, and he had shown his commitment to excellence. Through his sterling performance, he has also garnered widespread recognition and esteemed accolades”.
Recall that before his assumption in office as Sole Administrator, Awo-omamma was a theatre of war where people lived in fear, some families could not even hold their events because of the rate of insecurity then. But thank God for using our Hon. Celestine Onyeaka through the Governor to restore peace and unity.
