The Accord Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Comrade Ibeabuchi Kalu, has withdrawn from the race and declared support for the Labour Party candidate, Dr. Chima Anyaso.
Kalu announced his decision on Monday, November 2, 2026, during a visit to the Chima Anyaso Campaign Office, where he formally identified with the campaign organisation.
Explaining his decision, the former Accord Party candidate said he was impressed by the calibre of personalities involved in Anyaso’s campaign and believed that supporting a common political direction would strengthen the quest for effective representation in Bende Federal Constituency.
“One of the things that motivated me to take this decision is the calibre of men and women here,” Kalu said.
He also expressed confidence in Anyaso’s chances of emerging victorious in the 2027 election and representing the constituency in the House of Representatives.
“By God’s mercy, come 2027, this is the man that will tower in the House of Representatives representing Bende Federal Constituency,” he declared.
Receiving Kalu and his entourage, the Director-General of the Chima Anyaso Campaign Council, Pastor Dike Okechukwu; Chairman of the Advisory Board, Ezeogo Emeka Onuoha; and other directors were present.
Kalu’s decision marks a significant political development in the Bende Federal Constituency race, with his endorsement expected to add momentum to Anyaso’s campaign as political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections continue to unfold.
