Lawmaker Erondu Jnr Hails APC Primaries, Lauds President Tinubu, Kalu, Others

The lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly and APC Senatorial candidate for Abia South in the 2027 general elections, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, has commended the recently concluded APC primaries, describing them as credible, peaceful, and one of the most transparent exercises ever conducted by the party in Abia State.

Erondu Jnr also lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, former Deputy Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alozie Chris Akomas and other party stakeholders for what he described as their roles in strengthening internal democracy and unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking during a monitored National TV programme today, the former Chairman, Obingwa LGA, said the entire electoral process, from ward congresses to the national convention, was largely devoid of rancour, adding that it reflected a new phase of discipline and cohesion within the party.

He said his emergence as the APC senatorial candidate for Abia South was a testament to strong grassroots support and the confidence party members have in his leadership.

The Uhie-born legislator thanked God for securing a clear victory in the primaries, polling 15,982 votes, ahead of three other aspirants who scored 4,556, 4,322, and 4,022 votes respectively.

He attributed the outcome to widespread acceptance across the district and consistent grassroots mobilisation.

The lawmaker expressed confidence that the APC is strategically positioned for success in Abia State in the 2027 general elections, citing improved unity and stronger party structures.

According to him, the party has continued to gain ground through credible leadership and growing public confidence.

Erondu Jnr further extolled President Tinubu’s leadership, describing it as central to the party’s renewed direction at the national level.

He also commended Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu for his contributions to strengthening the APC in Abia State, alongside other stakeholders who ensured peaceful and well-organised primaries.

He further noted that recent federal appointments of Abia prominent sons and daughters, adding that the appointment of the immediate past Governor of Abia state, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu reflects increasing inclusion and recognition at the national level.

Reaffirming his commitment, Erondu Jnr said he would continue to mobilise support for the APC and its leadership, insisting that the party remains a strong contender ahead of the 2027 general elections in Abia State.
