Late Azubuike Erondu Buried Amid Tears, Tributes

Late Elder Azubuike Ihuoma Erondu has been laid to rest in his hometown, Azuogwugwu village, Mgboko Umuanunu ancient kingdom, Obingwa Local Government Area (LGA), Abia State yesterday, amid tears and tributes.

The immediate past Abia state Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu who was sober throughout the burial ceremony expressed rude shock, describing late Azubuike Erondu as a dedicated community leader, courageous patriot and astute politician.

He added that his unwavering dedication to serve humanity, good counsel, knowledge and experience would be missed.

He explained that death is a necessary end for all mortals, that will come unannounced, consoling the family, Azuogwugwu village, Mgboko Umuanunu ancient kingdom, the entire Obingwa LGA, friends and well-wishers over the untimely death.

 


Dr. Ikpeazu enjoined Christian faithfuls to emulate the good virtues of the deceased, highlighting that they should serve as a model for others.

Meanwhile, the lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State constituency in Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA) and the younger brother of the deceased, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, has called on everyone to be a good role model for the younger ones and ensure they leave behind good legacies, worthy of emulation when they are no more.

The former chairman, Obingwa LGA who also described his late brother, Elder Erondu as a man of impeccable character, urged christians to be of good character to ensure positive testimonies from people at their demise.

 

 

 

The Chairman, House Committee on Public Service ABHA, thanked friends and well-wishers for their show of love to the family in this trying moment, noting that the death of his late brother traumatized him, the entire Erondu family and the community, owing to his genuine love for the people.

In his remark on behalf of the immediate family, the first son of the deceased, Mr. Chinedu Erondu, described his late father as a compassionate man, an advocate of justice and a custody of tradition, who sacrificed a lot for the good of the family and the community.

He further expressed sadness that the late father could not live to enjoy a little from the great investments he (the deceased) made in their lives.

In his sermon, Rev Apostle Sampson Agba Chukwu of the Apostolic Church, implored Christians to refrain from evil doing and do good, insisting that everyone shall reap the consequences of his/her actions and inactions.

He cautioned people not to shed innocent blood for posterity sake, adding that negative consequences abound.

The clergy recalled that the philanthropic life of Late Elder Azubuike Erondu, noting that he (the deceased) helped immensely towards the completion of their church building project and touched people’s lives in meaningful ways.

In a related development, the 1994 set of Old Boys/Girls, Mgboko Umuanunu Secondary school Obingwa LGA Abia State, has commiserated with their member, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr over the untimely demise of his elder brother, urging the family to take solace that the deceased lived an impactful life.

The leader of the group, Mr. Felix Anaba also affirmed that they would immortalize the deceased by upholding his virtues of love to God and humanity.

Hon. Augustine Mmeregini, the member representing Ukwa-East State constituency, Hon. Lewis Obianyi, National Coordinator, Igodo Igwe Foundation, Hon. Ukpom, party stalwarts across party lines, captains of industries, Bankers, clergies, council of Traditional Rulers/Chiefs, among others.
