Leading engineering and infrastructure company, Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, has once again been named Best Construction and Infrastructure Company of the Year (West Africa), reinforcing its leadership position in the region’s construction industry.
The award was presented on Thursday in Lagos at the 15th West Africa Innovation Awards, where the company emerged winner ahead of other major contenders, including Micheleti Construction Ghana Limited and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation.
Chairman of the Awards Organising Committee, Canmil Chineme, said the recognition was based on rigorous evaluation by an independent panel of judges, who assessed industry players on innovation, service delivery, and contribution to infrastructure development across West Africa.
He noted that Julius Berger was selected for its consistent performance and impact on critical infrastructure projects in the subregion.
Receiving the award on behalf of the company, Julius Berger’s Director of Administration, Dr. Abdulaziz Isa Kaita, described the honour as a validation of the firm’s decades-long commitment to engineering excellence, safety standards, innovation, and nation-building.
He said the recognition reflects more than corporate achievement, stressing the broader role of infrastructure in driving economic growth and social development.
“Tonight, we celebrate more than concrete, steel, and asphalt. We celebrate vision, resilience, and the transformative power of infrastructure in shaping economies, connecting communities, and improving lives,” he said.
Dr. Kaita reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainable construction practices, local content development, human capital growth, and strict health, safety, and environmental standards.
He added that Julius Berger’s projects continue to stimulate economic activity, create jobs, and improve connectivity through roads, bridges, airports, seaports, and other key infrastructure across the region.
The award was dedicated to the company’s workforce, including engineers, architects, technicians, artisans, and administrative staff, whom he credited for sustaining its reputation for excellence.
Other organisations honoured at the ceremony included Sovereign Trust Insurance PLC, Vitafoam Nigeria Plc, CRC Credit Bureau Limited, and the West African Human Resource Outsourcing Company.
