A coalition of Christian ministers in Bende Local Government Area has pledged spiritual support for the Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chima Anyaso, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Rev. Henry Kay of Assemblies of God Church, Bende, said the Church must play a more active role in shaping the future of governance by supporting leaders it considers capable and God-fearing.

He noted that the clerics had gathered to intercede for Dr. Anyaso, expressing confidence that their prayers would contribute to his success in the forthcoming elections.

Also speaking, the coordinator of the group, Rev. Ibe Uduma, said the ministers were united in their resolve to continue praying for the Labour Party candidate throughout his political journey.

According to him, the initiative reflects the Church’s commitment to encouraging responsible and accountable leadership in Bende Federal Constituency.

Responding, Dr. Anyaso thanked the ministers for their prayers and encouragement, describing their support as consistent and unwavering.

He recalled that the pastors had been praying for him long before the Labour Party primary election and expressed appreciation for their confidence in his aspiration.

The Labour Party flag bearer assured the clerics and the people of Bende that, if elected into the House of Representatives in 2027, he would justify the trust reposed in him through effective and people-oriented representation.

The prayer meeting comes as political consultations and grassroots engagements continue to intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the Bende Federal Constituency race expected to attract significant attention in Abia State.
