Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, recently sworn in fifteen new special Advisers into the Rivers Executive Council.
Governor Wike who also swore in the chairman of Rivers Pension Board,Prof.Ovundra Okene, also inaugurated members of the Board of Rivers State Housing and property Development Authority
The Governor advised the new appointees to see their appointment as a call to serve Rivers State. And also to regards the appointment as a means of adding value to the governance of the state rather than for self enrichment.
Speaking further, He said, “When you have opportunity like this use it to prove yourself, this can be the platform for Promotion, this not an opportunity to make more money, just serve, what is due will come to you”.
The Governor urge them to be loyal at all times and contribute to the advancement of the people of the State.
Also Wike, told the new appointees to be in touch with the constituencies to keep them abreast with the development of the State.
He said the State government was working to amend the Pension Law to address the challenges experienced in the Pension scheme.
The governor also urged the State Housing Property Development Authority to sanitise the housing sector.
