Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara will on Monday 3rd March, 2025, start another round of project commissioning across the state.
In a release signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Communications, Warisenibo Joe Johnson and made available to newsmen, he revealed that over the course of ten days, critical infrastructure projects spanning multiple sectors will be inaugurated, reflecting the administration’s unwavering commitment to development, security, and improved service delivery.
The Press Release reads:
“GOVERNMENT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
COMMENCEMENT OF ANOTHER ROUND OF PROJECT COMMISSIONING ACROSS THE STATE AND BEYOND
This is to inform the Public that the Rivers State Government under the dynamic leadership of His Excellency, Sir (Dr.) Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS shall commence a new round of project commissioning, set to begin on Monday, March 3, 2025, as outlined below:
Over the course of ten days, critical infrastructure projects spanning multiple sectors will be inaugurated, reflecting the administration’s unwavering commitment to development, security, and improved service delivery.
This commissioning schedule encompasses key projects in housing, firefighting and emergency response, security, healthcare, education, and judiciary welfare across Port Harcourt City, Obio/Akpor, Khana, Okrika LGAs and Bayelsa State.
Below is the detailed commissioning schedule:
PROJECT COMMISSIONING TIMELINE
1. Monday, March 3, 2025 –
Government House Staff Quarters (PHALGA)
A modern, well-equipped staff quarters for Government House personnel, providing a comfortable and conducive living environment.
2. Tuesday, March 4, 2025 –
State Fire Service Headquarters and Firefighting Vehicles (Isaac Boro Park/Mile 1, PHALGA)
Strengthening fire emergency response capacity with a new headquarters and state-of-the-art firefighting vehicles.
3. Wednesday, March 5, 2025 –
Handing Over of Helicopter to the Nigerian Air Force (Obio/Akpor).
A strategic boost to national security operations, enhancing aerial surveillance and emergency response capabilities.
4. Thursday, March 6, 2025 –
Borokiri Fire Service Station and Firefighting Vehicles (PHALGA).
Expanding fire safety coverage with a well-equipped fire station in Borokiri.
5. Friday, March 7, 2025 –
Rumuodonmaya Fire Service Station and Firefighting Vehicles (Obio/Akpor LGA).
Further reinforcing emergency response infrastructure in Obio/Akpor LGA.
6. Monday, March 10, 2025 –
Construction and Furnishing of the Palace & Residence of Akpor Monarch (Ozuoba, Obio/Akpor LGA).
A befitting palace for the traditional ruler of Akpor Kingdom, preserving cultural heritage and fostering community leadership.
7. Tuesday, March 11, 2025 –
Judges’ Quarters (Akassa Street, PHALGA).
Comfortable residential quarters for judges, ensuring judicial officers have an enabling environment to dispense justice.
8. Wednesday, March 12, 2025 –
Bori General Hospital (Bori, Khana LGA).
A major healthcare facility to improve medical services and healthcare access in Khana and neighboring communities.
9. Thursday, March 13, 2025 –
Okrika Grammar School, Okrika (Okrika LGA).
Upgraded facilities and improved learning environments to enhance secondary education standards.
10. Friday, March 14, 2025 –
Furnishing, Equipping & Electrification of the Nigerian Law School, Yenagoa Campus (Bayelsa State).
Ensuring a conducive learning environment with modern amenities, infrastructure, and stable power supply for law students.
