Federal Legislator, Hon Nkwonta Gives Motorcycles, Bags of Rice, Cash To Constituents

The Chairman, House Committee on Climate change, Federal House of Representatives, National Assembly Abuja, Hon. Chris Nkwonta has given 40 motorcycles, 600 bags of rice and cash to his constituents to cushion the economic hardship in the country.

 

 

Speaking at the event, in his country home, Akwete Ndoki, Abia state, the Lawmaker representing Ukwa Federal Constituency who thanked his constituents and stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him, expressed through their votes, reiterated his commitment to provide democracy dividends to his constituents.

Nkwonta also decried that Ukwa Federal Constituency had suffered misrepresentation for the past 16 years, maintaining that he would not disappoint them.

In his words: “Whatever Ukwa Federal Constituency is entitled to from the budget would not be diverted but surely get to them. I contested election to change the narrative and by God’s grace the difference would be clear”.

He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing bags of rice for his constituents, insisting that he is commited towards fulfilling his campaign promises to his constituents.

The Ndoki-born federal legislator who gave cash to rural women to support this year’s farming, also urged his constituents to engage in agriculture, describing it as a gold mine for investors.

He promised to provide cassava processing mills for garri processing in Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West LGA, as well as initiate programmes that would improve the living standards of his people.

Contributing, the member representing Ukwa-East State Constituency in Abia state House of Assembly (ABHA), Hon. Lewis Obianyi has applauded Hon. Nkwonta for the free distribution of motorcycles, bags of rice and cash gifts to his constituents, describing him as a visionary and compassionate leader.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He noted that their people have not seen it in this fashion in the past 16 years, adding that they would always support him to succeed at the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, the former chairman, Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC), Rt. Hon. Emeka Stanley has commended Hon. Nkwonta for empowering his constituents, adding that the federal lawmaker has changed the narrative in Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West Federal constituency.

The elder statesman described Nkwonta as a rare gift to the people, urging him to sustain the gesture in order to improve the living standard of their people.

Presenting the empowerment items to beneficiaries, the Abia South Zonal Secretary, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Abia state, Mr. Richard Nwagbara, commended the Federal Lawmaker for the benevolence to his constituents, adding that he has performed creditably within his few months at the National Assembly.

The PDP chieftain who enjoined beneficiaries to make good use of the items received to better their lives, also urged party faithfuls to continue support the lawmaker for him to deliver more democracy dividends to them.

Speaking on behalf of the women, the former Deputy Chairman, Ukwa-East LGA, Lady Cecilia C. Okere, lauded the federal Lawmaker for living up to his responsibilities, noting that the constituency has never experienced such benevolence in the past 16 years.

She further appealed to Sir Nkwonta to include more women in his subsequent empowerment programmes, maintaining that women of Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West would always support him without reservations.

In their separate remarks, the party stakeholders; Mr. Okechi Nwaohu, Mr. Esiaba Uzo, Mr. Reginald Ezenta, Mr. Geoffrey Akara, and Mr. Henry Chilaka, thanked Chief Nkwonta for the equitable distribution of the empowerment items to the constituents, adding that they were not surprised that he is performing excellently owing to his past records.

In their vote of thanks, some of the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme; Mr. Emeka Nnah and Mr. Dinne Kajatan thanked the lawmaker, noting that the motorcycles and other empowerment items received would go along way to alleviate their sufferings.

Fielding questions from newsmen, the Head, Chief Chris Nkwonta Media Office, Dr. Chidi Nwankpa has also enjoined the people of Ukwa Federal Constituency to be steadfast and continue to support the lawmaker, adding that Chief Nkwonta would use everything at his disposal to attract democracy dividends to his constituents.
