Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, Holds Strategic Meeting

The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, Danladi Isa, has held his first strategic meeting of the year with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Commanders.

During the meeting, CP Isa emphasized key directives from the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), focusing on issues such as corruption, extortion, incivility towards the public, and the need for proper supervision of junior officers.

The CP also took the opportunity to debunk false online reports alleging that the IGP had instructed the public to assault officers searching phones, clarifying that assaults on officers will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

He reviewed the successes of existing strategies aimed at reducing crime and curbing unprofessional conduct among officers. Progress reports from the CP’s monitoring team were also discussed, along with the introduction of the Mutual Accountability Scorecard by the Police Public Relations Officer, a tool designed to enhance transparency and accountability within the command.

These efforts align with the IGP’s 2025 mandate to minimize crime effectively.

The meeting concluded with directives for all DPOs, Area Commanders, and Tactical Commanders to draft actionable crime-reduction plans tailored to their jurisdictions, with submission timelines for review and implementation. CP Isa expressed appreciation for the officers’ dedication in 2024 and encouraged them to sustain their efforts for an even more impactful year ahead.
