The Abia State High Court has fixed November 3, 2026, for further hearing in the trial of John Emmanuel and Nwafor Ogbonnaya over alleged conspiracy and murder, as the case continues through the judicial process.
The defendants are standing trial in Charge No. HU/13C/2025 over the alleged killing of Ijeoma Ariwodo at Okoso Farm, Atani, Ihechiowa village, on October 10, 2024.
The prosecution’s case includes a conspiracy charge under Section 342 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 80, Volume 3, Laws of Abia State, alongside a murder charge.
Among the witnesses listed by the prosecution are Ngozi Nwaoma, Nelson Ariwodo, Goodness Ijeoma and Sergeant Ogbu Samuel, whose testimonies are expected to form part of the evidence before the court.
Other names mentioned in connection with the proceedings include Chief G.I. Chionye (KSC), G.I. Ezindu and E.N. Amadi.
The prosecution also made submissions concerning bail, urging the court to consider the materials presented and exercise its discretion in the matter.
