Abia Traditional Rulers’ Chairman Commends Governor Otti’s Inclusive Town Hall Meetings

 

The Chairman, Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mbah has described as commendable, the decision of Governor Alex Otti to hold town hall meetings across the three Senatorial zones of the state.

 

Eze Nto Mbah made this known while addressing Journalists at the Ohafia Local Government Area headquarters during the Governor’s town hall meeting for the people of Abia North as part of activities to mark the Governor Otti’s first year in office.

He said that the town hall meetings which are a part of the inclusive governance agenda of the Alex Otti-led administration is a well thought out initiative adding that the interface would endear the Governor to the people at the grassroots as well as help him identify more of their various challenges.

Eze Nto Mbah thanked the Governor for the ongoing reconstruction of the long abandoned Ndiokereke -Abam- -Amuvi- Arochukwu road and Umuahia -Uzuakoli- Alayi -Ohafia road, noting that their economic importance of the roads are unimaginable.

Eze Mbah further lauded the Governor for hitting the ground running with road constructions, retrofitting of hospitals, regular payment of salaries, defraying of arrears of pensions owed by previous administrations and resuscitating lives of pensioners by paying them their pensions every 28 of the month.

He also appreciated the achievements of the Governor in security, waste management , education among others including the increment of the monthly stipend of the traditional rulers to the statutory 5 percent as well as payment of 50,000 Naira each to the royal fathers to make up for the shortfall recently witnessed from FAAC.

 

The Royal father used the opportunity to urge Governor Otti to sustain his people centric administration which he said has not only impacted greatly on the people in the last one year but has redefined governance in Abia state and congratulated him on his one year of eventful government, praying God to bless him.
