The wife of Abia State Governor , Mrs. Priscilla Otti (C) the deputy speaker ABHA, Hon. Austin Meregini (R) Mama Elizabeth Ukaegbu(2nd R) wife of the Deputy Governor,Mrs. Emetu (2nd L) and the wife of the Deputy Speaker, Mrs. Meregini during the commissioning of Mama Elizabeth Ukaegbu house at Umuezeagwu community in Umuahia.
The house member representing Umuahia East State Constituency in the Abia state house of assembly, Hon. Austin Okezie Meregini in partnership with the Abia State Oil Producing Area Development Commission(Asopadec) has completed a solar energy powered reticulated borehole in Umuezeagwu community, Umuahia North Local Government Area in Abia State.
Hon. Meregini, also the deputy speaker of Abia state house of assembly through his Ugolee Peoples Foundation built a 2 bedroom bungalow for an indigent widow, Mama Elizabeth Ukaegbu and completed a vigilante house in the same Umuezeagwu community.

Mrs. Priscilla Otti, the wife of Abia Governor who commissioned the projects said that the presence of clean water will not only add to the wellbeing of the people but also prevent diseases associated with lack of access to clean water.
She commended the legislator for his act of kindness, adding that Gov. Alex Otti is very much pleased in taking development to the people in the rural areas.
However, Mrs Otti advised the community youths to protect the assets and call on well meaning individuals in the society to brighten their corner by supporting the vulnerable.

In his speech, the Deputy speaker of the state assembly, Hon. Austin Meregini said that the projects buttresses our commitment to good governance to the people of Abia.
He expressed that the administration of Governor Otti is anchored on uplifting the living standard of people and by building this bungalow for Mama Elizabeth, I am aligning myself with the Governor to change the narratives in my constituency.
According to him, Mama would be placed on monthly stipend and her grandson will lean any skill of his choice as we wish to extend this gesture of goodwill by surmounting the scarcity of water within the constituency.
In their remarks, the community youths leader, comrade Wisdom Offor, Lady Victoria Chibundu thanked Hon. Meregini for his responsive leadership within the constituency.
They explained that others have used the scarcity of water for campaign purposes without fulfilling it but today Hon. Meregini has fulfill it, not only that but a poor widow received a 2 bedroom bungalow, it is a thing of joy to us and we will continue to support him.
Meanwhile, the beneficiary, Mama Elizabeth Ukaegbu thanked Hon. Meregini adding that the forgotten has been remembered by God.
