Otti Mourns Prof Greg Ibe

Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has expressed sadness over the death of Professor Gregory Ikechukwu Ibe, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate in the 2023 election.

Governor Otti, in a press statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, said he received the news of Prof Ibe’s death with shock and sadness.

The Governor noted that the late professor had made significant contributions to education and research in Nigeria, particularly in Abia State.

He said he had hoped and prayed that the respected administrator and philanthropist who battled an illness for some time, would recover.

“Unfortunately, he couldn’t. We cannot question God”, the Governor said.

Governor Otti urged the deceased’s family, friends and associates to draw strength from the life he lived and the legacies he left behind.

He appealed to them not to “mourn like those without hope”, but to take solace in Prof Ibe’s fulfilled and impactful life and uphold his virtues and enduring contributions.

The governor, on behalf of his family, the Abia State Government and the people of the state, commiserated with the bereaved family and prayed that God would grant the late professor Ibe eternal repose.
