The Head of Service (HOS), Mr. Benson Ojeikere, has charged Permanent Secretaries in Abia State to demonstrate exemplary leadership through punctuality, discipline, and commitment to duty.
Speaking during a mentorship session held at the Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia, Ojeikere said the interactive engagement was designed to equip Permanent Secretaries with essential knowledge for effective leadership and improved service delivery.
He emphasized that true leadership entails selfless service to the public, placing the welfare of others above personal interest. According to him, prioritizing collective goals is key to nurturing a motivated and efficient workforce within the state’s civil service.
The Head of Service further urged public servants to adopt technology-driven approaches to enhance productivity and ensure efficient service delivery. He highlighted the importance of digital literacy and continuous learning as vital tools for both personal growth and professional advancement.
Ojeikere reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to building a modernized, technology-compliant, and disciplined civil service aligned with Governor Alex Otti’s vision for a reformed and efficient public sector.
