2024 Appropriation Bill Pass into Law

Abia State House of Assembly has passed into law H.A.B 8: The Abia State of Nigeria 2024 Appropriation Bill of the total estimated budget outlay of five hundred and sixty seven billion, two hundred and fourty million, ninety five thousand, nine hundred and seventy two Naira.

 

Announcing the passage, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa who congratulated his colleagues for their dedication and commitment towards the expeditious passage gave the estimated capital expenditure as four hundred and seventy- six billion, eleven million, three hundred and seventeen thousand, eight hundred and ninety-three Naira and the recurrent expenditure at ninety-one billion, two hundred and twenty- eight million, seven hundred and seventy- eight thousand and seventy-nine naira.

Rt.Hon Emeruwa said the 2024 Appropriation Bill when passed into law will be deemed to have come into law on the first day of January, 2024.

 

The passage followed among others, the presentation and deliberations on the report and recommendations of its Joint Committee of Appropriation and Budget, Planning and Multilateral, chaired by the Chairman, Mr Stephen Ucheonye and co-chaired by Mr Mathias Ume.

 

The House adjourned plenary for its Christmas break and to reconvene on the 18th of January, 2024.
