The Nigeria Police Force, Abia State Command, on Saturday organised a grand send-off ceremony in honour of its former Commissioner of Police, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Danladi Isa, following his promotion and redeployment to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID).

The event, held at Murphy Mansion Resort in Umuahia, attracted top government officials, security chiefs, traditional rulers, members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), and other stakeholders who paid glowing tributes to the outgoing police chief.

Representing Governor Dr. Alex Otti, the Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, described AIG Isa as a disciplined, dedicated, and result-oriented police officer whose collaboration with the state government contributed significantly to making Abia one of Nigeria’s most peaceful states.

He said the administration enjoyed tremendous cooperation from the police under AIG Isa’s leadership, adding that the state’s remarkable security and development achievements were made possible through effective synergy among security agencies.

The Governor’s Special Adviser on Security Matters, retired Commander Macdonald Uba, commended the cordial working relationship between the state government and the police, noting that AIG Isa’s discipline, professionalism, and commitment to excellence strengthened security across the state. He urged the senior police officer to deploy his wealth of experience in his new assignment at the FCID.

Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Abia State Command, Chief Ifeanyi Igboanulam, described the celebrant as a mentor, a man of integrity, and an open-door administrator who consistently supported the committee and encouraged community policing. He expressed confidence that AIG Isa’s contributions would remain a reference point in the state’s security architecture.

Also speaking, the representative of the Abia State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty Eze Elder Odum Amogo, praised the outgoing police chief for fostering peace at the grassroots through prompt responses to security concerns. He congratulated him on his promotion and prayed for greater success in his new office.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Mr. Ohazuru Ifeanyi, described AIG Isa as an exceptional leader whose people-oriented management style positively transformed the command. He noted that the former commissioner prioritised officers’ welfare, encouraged inclusive decision-making, and inspired professionalism among personnel.

The Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), represented by Mrs. Comfort Mba Ajugwa, also expressed appreciation for AIG Isa’s support throughout his tenure, describing his leadership as impactful and encouraging.

In his response, AIG Danladi Isa thanked God, the Abia State Government, security agencies, and the people of the state for their cooperation during his tenure. He attributed the relative peace enjoyed in Abia to the unwavering support of Governor Dr. Alex Otti, effective collaboration among security agencies, and the willingness of residents to provide timely intelligence to law enforcement.

He urged Abians to continue partnering with the police by volunteering credible information, stressing that policing cannot succeed without public trust and cooperation. He also charged police officers to remain accessible, respectful, and professional in their dealings with members of the public.

AIG Isa further commended the harmonious relationship among security agencies in the state, describing their synergy as the foundation of the relative peace currently enjoyed in Abia. He assured residents that the security agencies would continue working together to sustain peace and protect lives and property.

The send-off ceremony featured goodwill messages, prayers, and commendations from dignitaries who unanimously acknowledged AIG Danladi Isa’s contributions to security, peace, and community policing in Abia State while wishing him greater success in his new national assignment.
