The Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Dr. Chima Anyaso, has declared that there will be no electoral malpractice in Abia State, expressing confidence that every lawful vote cast in the state will count.
Speaking during a prayer gathering attended by ministers of the gospel, traditional rulers, party supporters and stakeholders in Bende Local Government Area, Anyaso said the era of manipulating election results was over, insisting that the 2027 elections would be conducted in a transparent and credible manner.
He assured his supporters that his campaign would continue to focus on engaging the people, presenting his vision and earning their mandate through legitimate means, while emphasizing that adequate measures would be in place to safeguard votes throughout the electoral process.
The Labour Party candidate urged his supporters to remain confident and committed to the democratic process, maintaining that the party was prepared to defend every valid vote and ensure that the will of the electorate prevailed.
Anyaso also reaffirmed his belief in fairness, equity and justice, describing them as essential principles for sustainable political leadership. He said the rotational arrangement for the Bende Federal Constituency seat, as agreed by stakeholders and traditional rulers, should be respected in the interest of equity and peaceful coexistence.
According to him, the constituency’s zoning understanding between the two blocs should not be undermined, stressing that power-sharing arrangements promote inclusiveness and strengthen unity within the area.
He further aligned himself with Governor Alex Otti’s position that anyone contemplating manipulating the outcome of the 2027 elections in Abia State should abandon such intentions, expressing confidence that the state would witness a peaceful, free and fair electoral process.
Anyaso further urged the people of Bende to remain resolute and firm in their support for the Governor of the State, who according to him, has redefined governance, stating that come 2027 polls, the area would deliver the Governor and other Labour Party candidates
