Ujah Okafor Omoji’s family distributes 400 footwear to school pupils in Abiriba

 

It was a great moment of joy and fulfilment of wishes as the family of Chief Ujah Okafor Omoji of Abiriba community in Ohafia local government distributed over 400 pairs of footwear to pupils of Enuda Nursery and Primary school, Abiriba.

The gesture, courtesy of Daniel Ujah Okafor Omoji, 17 and Grace Ujah Okafor Omoji, 11, children of Chief Ujah and Lolo Oluchi Okafor Omoji to celebrate the birthday of their parents.

The Ujahs who are based in the United States said that the gesture was part of their giving back to the community and service to humanity.

In their messages, the children of the United States based businessman and philanthropist said that the distribution was a fulfilled birthday wishes to their parents and friends in place of celebration and gifts for the celebrants.

They stated that their decision was reminiscent of their Christmas experience while in Abiriba and that the birthday celebration presented them an opportunity to prioritise selfless services for community development and humanity.

According to them, they had profound and memorable experiences during the last Xmas celebration in Abiriba and had the opportunity of going round the town, admiring the beautiful landscape and structures like in other developed nations as well the cultural activities and occasions which left an unforgettable memories in them.

The young Ujahs said that they were astoned to see few children without good footwear and clothes and that such negative images were often used against African heritage overseas.

They therefore decided that they won’t need the birthday gifts or celebration but rather, it should be monitise to buy footwear for pupils in our local schools in Abiriba.
” It’s our little way to share, inspire the pupils, and put smiles on their faces. ”
Daniel and Grace added.

Towards achieving this goal, the family contracted the services of Shoeplanet LTD; a reputable footwear and leather works manufacturing company which ensured that the shoes were made for the children according to their sizes and desires of Daniel and Grace Okafor Ujah coordinated the distribution.
The children thank their parents for making their wishes a reality as they wish the pupils great futures ahead.

Responding, the Headmistress of the School, Ms Ndukwe Betsy, on behalf of the pupils, teachers and parents thanked Chief and Lolo Oluchi Okafor Ujah Omoji family for not just bringing unique gifts items to the pupils as some of them come to school without footwears but also giving them a message of hope.

She added that it would also be a lifetime lesson of public charity on the pupils when they grew up and urged the pupils to emulate the art of free giving as to also put smiles on the faces of others.

The overwhelmed pupils who benefited from the philanthropic gesture and their teachers sang and wish the celebrants and his family the best.
