TREM South East Zone 2 Celebrates Father’s Day, Charges Men to Uphold Godly Values
The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), South East Zone 2 Headquarters, Umuahia, Abia State, on Sunday celebrated its annual Father’s Day with a strong call on men to uphold integrity, embrace sacrifice, and remain steadfast in their commitment to God and their families.

The celebration attracted members from across the zone and featured worship sessions, special presentations, award recognitions, and a sermon themed “The Right Standing Man.”
Delivering the Father’s Day message, the Assistant Pastor, Pastor Ikechukwu Agbakuru, charged men to remain faithful to God’s calling, drawing his text from Genesis 3:9, where God asked Adam, “Where art thou?”

He explained that God’s question to Adam was not about his physical location but about his spiritual position and relationship with Him, stressing that every man must remain where God has positioned him.

According to Pastor Agbakuru, true greatness comes through obedience to God’s purpose rather than the pursuit of personal ambition. He urged fathers to embrace their divine responsibilities as priests, protectors, intercessors, and spiritual leaders of their homes.

Quoting from Job 1:8, Ezekiel 22:30, Ephesians 5:25-28, Daniel 6:3, and Isaiah 60:1, he said a right-standing man must be devoted to prayer, sacrificial love, and the study of God’s Word, adding that God’s blessings should never become a reason for neglecting spiritual responsibilities.

The cleric further encouraged men to remain humble, stay committed to God’s mandate, and allow Him to mould their character, noting that an excellent spirit is developed through fellowship with God and obedience to His Word.
Speaking during the event, the President of the TREM Uwalaka Young Men Fellowship, Brother Famolayo Olalekan, expressed gratitude to God for the success of the programme.

He said the event was carefully planned and thanked God for His manifest presence throughout the celebration.

Olalekan advised men and fathers to remain right-standing before God by living exemplary lives and leaving lasting godly legacies for their families and future generations.
In his closing remarks, Deacon Godfrey Iwunze thanked God for the successful Father’s Day celebration and appreciated the church leadership, organising committee, and members for their support and commitment.

He prayed that God would continue to strengthen fathers with wisdom, grace, good health, and the ability to lead their families according to His will. He also encouraged the men to remain steadfast in faith and continue serving as worthy examples in their homes, the church, and society.
The high point of the celebration was the presentation of awards to deserving families in recognition of their commitment and contributions to the church. The women also rendered a special joint musical presentation in honour and appreciation of the fathers, bringing the colourful celebration to a joyful conclusion.
