The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, has urged Christian professionals to be good role models by making positive contributions to the lives of others and their communities.
Dr. Meribole gave the advice while speaking at the breakfast meeting of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI), Nigeria, Umuahia South Zone, held at Platter Grilltz on Azikiwe Road, Umuahia. He thanked the Fellowship for the warm welcome and said he looked forward to attending more of its programmes.
He said Jesus Christ changed lives through love, compassion and selfless service, and encouraged Christians to follow His example in their daily lives. He added that everyone has a testimony of God’s goodness and stressed the need to acknowledge God in all they do, noting that true and lasting success comes only through Him.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Health, Prof. Enoch Uche, emphasized the importance of genuine love among people. He said promotion and success come from God and encouraged Christians to remain faithful to Him.
Earlier, in his welcome address, a member of the Fellowship, Mr. Victor Mbanaso, explained that the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International is a non-profit Christian organisation that brings together businessmen and professionals to share their faith in Jesus Christ while promoting Christian fellowship and networking.
He said the Fellowship, which was founded in the 1950s, now has 167 chapters across Nigeria.
The breakfast meeting featured inspiring testimonies from members, including the Vice-Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Prof. Ursula Akanwa, and Dr. Zik Ikeorha. The event was attended by politicians, lawyers, medical professionals, business leaders and other distinguished guests.
