RESPECT THE CULTURES, NORMS, TRADITIONS OF YOUR HOST COMMUNITIES; NYSC DG CHARGES CORPS MEMBERS

The Director General National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC), Brigadier General, Yushau Dogara Ahmed has advised Corps Members to
respect cultures, norms and traditions of their host communities where they will be posted.

The NYSC DG gave the advice on Friday, during his official visit to the Corps Members, at the Umunna Bende NYSC Abia Permanent Orientation Camp.

Addressing the Corps Members during the unscheduled visit, General Dogara commended them for the report of good conduct and discipline he received and adviced them to continue to be discipline throughout the service year and beyond.
Speaking on safety and security, the DG urged the corps members to be security conscious, avoiding night travels, and to follow at all times the security tips they have recieved during their security lectures in camp, citing cautionary tales of corps members who had put themselves in harms way due to negligence of such security lectures.

The DG revealed that by actively participating in the in-camp Skills Acquisition and Entreprenuership Development, SAED programme, the Corps Members have the capacity for receiving interest-free loans and grants from various NYSC partnering financial institutions such as Central Bank of Nigeria, Bank of Industry, Kudimata, Access Bank, Wema bank and others. He therefore charged them to key into the SAED training programme which provides them with the opportunity of acquiring skills that will make them job creators and shape their future.
The visit of the DG saw him inspect camp facilities, including the kitchen. He also addressed members of security and collaborating agencies on camp.

In his company were the Director, Press and Public Relations, Mr. Eddy Megwa, and Director Special Duties, Mrs. Bona Fasakin.
Not only that the DG addressed the corps members, he also gifted them three (3) fat cows to celebrate their graduation from school.
