The people of Ohafia Local Government Area (LGA) have unanimously expressed their support for Governor Alex Chioma Otti’s re-election bid in 2027.
This declaration was made at a solidarity meeting organized by Abia Arise, Ohafia LGA, where the community gathered to demonstrate their appreciation for the governor’s outstanding achievements.
Deputy Governor Ikechukwu Emetu, who spoke at the event, highlighted Governor Otti’s remarkable accomplishments in office, including the construction, rebuilding, and retrofitting of government-owned schools and hospitals in Ohafia LGA.
He also acknowledged the ongoing road projects in the area, courtesy of the governor’s infrastructure-driven leadership, and encouraged the community to reciprocate this gesture by voting overwhelmingly for Governor Otti in 2027.
Emetu assured of the government’s continuous improvement on the economic growth of the SMEs in the LGA, noting that the Governor is putting measures in place to tackle the prolonged power outage in Ohafia, even as the synergy between himself and Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, Member Representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency towards the restoration of power in Ohafia is receiving due attention by appropriate authorities. He therefore, warned vandals to steer clear of public facilities in the State.
Deputy Governor Emetu highlighted the Supreme Court Judgement that set aside the verdicts of the lower courts in the case of the leadership of the Labour Party in Nigeria. He noted that Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, remains the leader of Labour Party in Nigeria today, and maintained that the leadership of Governor Otti does not dwell on propaganda or cheap lies.
In his speech, the Mayor of Ohafia LGA, Hon. Chief Eleanya Ojuu Kalu thanked Governor Otti for his confidence in their son, the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, who he described as “an embodiment of loyalty, excellence, integrity and brilliance”.
Mayor Kalu described Governor Otti’s administration as a purposeful government powered by integrity, guided by vision, and driven by results. He noted that the era of abandoned projects and broken promises has given way to a new dawn, where basic infrastructure is daily restored, the economy prudently revived, and the dignity of Abians restored with gusto and fervor.
Addressing the cheering crowd, the Director General, Greater Ohafia Development Authority (GODA), Elder Engr Obinna Agwu Odum, extolled the confidence of Abia retirees in the government of Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, as seen in local communities across the state.
He expressed gratitude to the Governor for appointing many and suitable Ohafia sons and daughters in different capacities to serve the people of Abia State, and called for absolute support to the second term bid of Governor Otti come 2027.
The Deputy Mayor, Ohafia LGA, Hon. Dr. Eme Iro in his usual political correctness, put to voice vote, the reelection of Governor Otti come 2027, and a unanimous Ayes had it.
Highlight of the event was the distribution of gift items to women from the eleven wards in Ohafia LGA by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Adaeze Chidera Emetu.
