Grace Ike-Led NUJ Administration Lauded for Transforming Journalism Practice in FCT

The management of Digest International Page of the National Ambassador Newspaper has commended the leadership of Comrade Grace Ike and her executive at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, describing its tenure as transformative and impactful.

In a statement made available to journalists in Abuja, the publication said the current administration has shown strong commitment to improving the welfare, professional growth, and overall development of journalists within the Federal Capital Territory.

It noted that the leadership has introduced strategic initiatives aimed at repositioning journalism practice in line with global trends, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence, digital media innovation, and continuous professional training for media practitioners.

According to the statement, beyond capacity building, the administration has also prioritised members’ welfare, health, unity, discipline, and professional empowerment.

“The Grace Ike-led administration has left visible footprints across virtually every sector of the Council’s activities. From journalists’ welfare to training, healthcare support, professional ethics, and modernization of media practice, the administration has demonstrated purposeful leadership and a genuine commitment to service,” the statement read.

Digest International further stated that several programmes under the current leadership reflect a forward-looking vision designed to strengthen journalism practice and improve the wellbeing of media professionals in Abuja.

It also commended the administration’s efforts in creating opportunities for journalists to remain relevant in the evolving global media space through digital training initiatives, including collaborations with the Adobe Express team.

The publication described the achievements of the administration as commendable, noting that the leadership style of Grace Ike and her team has continued to inspire confidence among members of the Council.

It congratulated the NUJ FCT leadership and urged the executive to sustain its developmental drive in the interest of journalism practice and national development.
