A new Governing Council of the Abia State University, Uturu has been inaugurated by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu with Senator Adolph Wabara as the Pro-Chancelor and Chairman of the Council.
Inaugurating the Council,at the Exco Chambers,Government House Umuahia the Governor charged the Council to sustain the height the university has attained.
He commended the leadership of ABSU for maintaining the lead in academic excellence maintaining that the institution has not been on strike for three consecutive years.
Governor Ikpeazu urged the Council deploy its contacts and wide reach to ensure that the institution remains afloat.
The Governor disclosed that the Faculty of Engineering would soon be relocated to Osisioma to raise manpower to further drive development in the State.
He expressed confidence that Senator Wabara’s led Governing Council would perform.
Responding, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Abia State University, Uturu, Senator Adolph Wabara thanked the Governor for finding them worthy to serve the school and Abia State.
He assured that they would be professional in discharging their duties.
