France did not have a World Cup opener of their dream as they were held to a goalless draw by less fancied Reggae Girlz of Jamaica in Sydney.
France failed to convert any of their numerous chances to the advantage of the Caribbean Islanders who had lost all their previous World Cup matches.
The only stroke of brush on the painting for the Jamaicans was the sending off of their skipper Khadija Shaw in the 90th minute.
Herve Renard’s France will have to put their house together ahead of their next game on Saturday against Panama while Brazil, who will kick-off their campaign tomorrow against Panama, will take on France the same day.
