Coach Paseiro in Shock over Nigeria vs Lesotho Draw Match

The Super Eagles Coach, Jose Peseiro has expressed worry over the 1-1 draw of his team with Crocodiles of Lesotho in their first encounter for the 2026 World Cup Qualifying competition.

 

In a post match briefing on Thursday at the Godswill International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Paseiro noted that the draw was not good for Nigeria but expressed hope that the team will win the next match.

 

He admitted that the super eagles played well but failed to utilize their scoring chances, especially in the first half.

 

According to him, “I’m not happy today with outcome of the match. We dominated the game but unfortunately we drew.

“They were lucky, we missed so many scoring chances. The draw is not good for us, no one is happy but we hope to win the next match.”

 

 

Also speaking with Journalists, the Head Coach of Crocodiles of Lesotho, Leslie Notsi said that they had expected very tough match with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

 

Notsi said playing a draw was good; for his team came with a lot of respect for super eagles of Nigeria because of their pedigree stressing that the draw has given them enough confidence to move to the next match.

His words, “We came knowing that is going to be a very tough match, so played our strength out to make sure we score before the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

 

“Coming to Nigeria and getting a draw will give us more confidence. We will be progressing gradually before we can talk of qualification.’

 

Our Correspondent reports that Super Eagles and Crocodiles played goalless in the first 45 minutes while in the second half, the crocodiles of Lesotho opened score at the 57 minutes of play and the super eagles equalized through Semi Ajayi at the 67 minutes of play.
