Children Carnival to Be Reintroduced As Part of Activities for 2023 Calabar Carnival

As part of the activities to mark this year’s Calabar Carnival, the Special Adviser on Event Management and Chairman of the Committee Mr. Effiong Ekpenyong has said that the Children Carnival will be reintroduced in the 2023 Calabar Carnival festival.

 

Highlighting the outcome of the 2023 Carnival meeting held at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Local Government Affairs in Calabar the State capital, Mr Ekpenyong said the Children Carnival which normally features night of Carnival Kings and Queens with bands parading their Kings and Queens as well as Queen of humanity Cross pageant will be part of this year’s Carnival.

The activities which he revealed will start from 30th November with Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the Millennium Park Calabar, will last for 32 days as directed by the Governor of the state Senator Bassey Otu who set up the Committee mandating them to put up the most amazing 32 days non-stop fun.

 

The Chairman of Cross River State Carnival Commission, Mr Gab Onah said this year’s theme ” Season of Sweetness” was carefully chosen to give the State the chance to exhibit its rich and diverse cultural heritage as well as showcase the warmth that cannot be seen anywhere else in the world. Onah urged the youth of the state to be part of the carnival and help project the state to the world to attract investors to the State.
