CAF Champions League: Enyimba Crash Out

The People’s Elephant, Enyimba International of Aba have crashed out of this season’s CAF Champions League after they settled their second leg preliminary round encounter against Al-Ahly Benghazi goalless at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba on Sunday.

The North Africans qualified on a 4-3 aggregate.

The two time African champions had themselves to blame as they failed to convert their chances. They will have to turn their attention to the Nigerian Professional Football League which will commence very soon.

Al-Ahly will take on ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast in the next round.

Nigeria’s second representative in the competition, Remo Stars also crashed out 3-2 on penalties after they were tied 1-1 with Medeama.

In the CAF Confederation Cup, Bendel Insurance qualified for the next round 4-3 on penalties after they were tied 1-1 on aggregate with ASO Chlef.
