Chima Anyaso Foundation has entered into a strategic partnership with Communitywide Charities USA to establish community food banks across the 13 wards of Bende Federal Constituency as part of efforts to combat food insecurity and support vulnerable residents.
The partnership was sealed during a meeting in Boston between the Founder of the Chima Anyaso Foundation and Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, and the Chief Executive Officer of Communitywide Charities USA, Mr. Shola Muyide.
Speaking after the meeting, Dr. Anyaso said the initiative would provide periodic food assistance to vulnerable families and individuals across the constituency, helping to cushion the effects of economic hardship while promoting dignity and social inclusion.
According to him, the food bank project reflects a shared commitment by both organizations to community development and improving the welfare of the people.
“No family should go to bed hungry. Through this initiative, we aim to provide practical support that restores dignity and offers hope to those facing difficult circumstances,” he said.
Dr. Anyaso noted that the programme would complement existing interventions of the foundation in community welfare, youth empowerment, education, healthcare, and economic development.
He stressed the importance of collaboration in addressing societal challenges, describing partnerships as critical tools for delivering sustainable solutions and creating meaningful impact.
The Labour Party flagbearer commended Mr. Muyide, his wife, and the entire Communitywide Charities team for their commitment to humanitarian service and willingness to support the initiative.
“This is only the beginning. We look forward to reaching more communities and transforming more lives across the 13 wards of Bende Federal Constituency,” he added.
The food bank project is expected to be rolled out in phases under a structured and sustainable distribution framework designed to ensure that assistance reaches those most in need.
