The people of Ahoada West Local Government Area gathered in a mass Victory Thanksgiving event honoring Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Governor of Rivers state, despite disruptions and damages orchestrated by council-sponsored thugs led by Hon Hope Ikiriko. The initial venue faced turmoil, but security agents intervened, preventing a potential breakdown of law and order.
Hon Sokari Goodboy, the Member Representing Ahoada West in the Rivers State House of Assembly, expressed displeasure at Hon. Hope Ikiriko’s actions, vowing to seek redress for malicious damage. Goodboy assured the public that the incumbent governor remains committed to governance,justice and equity, urging calm.
Despite setbacks, the Thanksgiving and reception of decampees in Ahoada West was successful, drawing PDP stalwarts from the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers state.
