Abia Lawmaker, Erondu Jnr Mourns The Demise Of First Abia Governor, Onu

The Lawmaker, representing Obingwa-West State constituency in Abia state House of Assembly, (ABHA), Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr mourns the passing of former Abia state Governor, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu at the age of 72, describing him as a selfless core democrat.

Erondu Jnr disclosed this in a Press Release from his Media Office and made available to newsmen, stating that the first Abia Governor who served between January 1992 and December 1993 was a visionary leader who distinguished himself in office with several landmark projects.

In his words: “Dr. Onu was at the forefront of the defense of democracy at a time it faced the threat of extinction by powerful forces.
“His death today in Abuja leaves us with innumerable memories of his life as an astute academic and a renowned politician”

Erondu Jnr further expressed rude shock on the development, noting that the demise of late Dr. Onu, was a colossal loss to South-East and Nigeria at large.

The former chairman Obingwa Local Government Area (LGA), therefore, prayed that Almighty God grants the deceased eternal rest and comfort his friends and associates as they mourn him.
