Abia State deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has called for sustenance of the synergy between the state government and members of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA).
Sir Oko Chukwu stated this after h received an award of “Excellence” from Ohafia branch of legal professional association in appreciation of his modest contribution to the development of the state.
He said that he felt highly elated being singled out for the honour by a very respectable profession and reassured that he would continue to live up to the expectations and confidence reposed on him.
The deputy governor said that he was dedicating the award to the late pioneer erudite legal practitioner from Nkporoland, Chief Uka Olu Uko who he said served as a members of the old Imo state House of Assembly from 1979 to 1983 and described him as his mentor that inspired into joining politics and promised not to disappoint them.
The deputy governor thanked them for all the support they have sgiven to the present administration under the leadership of Dr. Okezie ikpeazu and assured them of continued government support and assistance to enable them carry their social responsibility to the society.
In their separate addresses, the leader of the delegation, Bar. Eke Ndukwe and the chairman of Ohafia branch of Nigeria Bar Association Bar. Udo Uduma said that award was strictly for men and women of distinction and that he was singled out recognition for the able way he has been assisting the governor in transforming the state and determination to improve the life of the masses.
They commended the cordial relationship and partnership existing between them and the government and promised to continue their to the present administration.
They solicited for assistance to enable them procure a new bus for their official and social engagements.
