Abia D Gov lauds Ukaegbu’s free medical outreach, unveils The Rosy’s Place.

The Abia State Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu has lauded the Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu, for thinking back home and affecting humanity positively.

Speaking during the Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu’s free medical outreach in commemoration of his birthday at Amuzukwu, Ibeku Clan in Umuahia North L.G.A, Emetu appreciated his simplicity and for showing commitment to the course of humanity.

He also commended his works as the transport commissioner and the selfless service he has been rendering to the state, which has made the task of rebuilding Abia easy for Governor Alex Otti.

Speaking respectively, the chief whip and Councillor representing Urban ward 3 in Umuahia North legislative council, Hon. Mayor Chigozie and Councillor representing Urban ward 2, Hon. Irobikansi Abraham, appreciated the free medical outreach and the lodging house built by Dr. Ukaegbu, describing him as a pillar in his Amuzukwu community.

They remarked that even before he joined politics, the birthday celebrant has been reaching out to humanity, adding that the recent free medical outreach is a welcome development, as he is being mindful that health is wealth.

They enjoined others in the society to emulate the good virtues of Dr. Ukaegbu, as they can also affect humanity positively without being in politics just like Ukaegbu has been doing before venturing into politics.

Earlier in his speech, the birthday celebrant and Abia state commissioner for Transport, Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu, appreciated God’s grace and benevolence towards him and his household.

He disclosed that he resolved not to celebrate his birthday for merriment but to embark on free eye care medical outreach as a way of giving back to the community

He enjoined others to embrace the concept of giving, adding, “When God blesses you, also bless others”.

Lending her voice, his wife, Pastor Mrs Rosemary Chika Ukaegbu, said that giving has remained part of their family lifestyle and appreciated God for the grace

 

Mr. Chibueze Obi, Madam Grace Ugochukwu and others who benefited from the outreach ranging from free eye check up, free eye glasses and drugs, free body sugar level and malaria testing, who also spoke to our reporter, lauded Dr. Ukaegbu’s philanthropy and prayed God to continue to bless him and his family with a good health and prosperity.

The event which featured goodwill messages from Rotary International among others, also saw the Deputy Governor, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu, unveiled “The Rosy”s Place”, (a lodging house).
