Gov Fubara Swears In Five Commissioners, Charges Them on Excellent Service

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Wednesday swore in five new commissioners, urging them to demonstrate commitment and excellence in advancing the development agenda of the state.

The newly inaugurated members of the State Executive Council are Tonye Bellgam, Prof. Temple Nwofor, Dr. Peters Nwagor, Lekue Kenneth and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Executive Council Chambers of Government House, Port Harcourt, following their successful screening and confirmation by the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Congratulating the commissioners on their appointments, Governor Fubara said their clearance by the Assembly after what he described as a rigorous screening process reflected their competence and readiness for public service.

He noted that the thorough scrutiny by lawmakers had already provided them with the necessary orientation for their roles.

“Ordinarily, I should charge you on your responsibilities and how to operate, but that has been taken care of by the screening at the Assembly,” the governor said.

Fubara expressed confidence that the new commissioners are well prepared to discharge their duties effectively and contribute meaningfully to the administration’s development drive.

He therefore urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by working diligently to accelerate progress across the state.

The governor stressed that his administration expects nothing short of excellent service as part of efforts to place Rivers State on a faster path of growth and development.
