EPL: Cherries Claim First Victory

Bournemouth bounced back from opening day loss to defeat Wolves 1-0. Marcus Tavernier’s deflected strike was all Cherries needed to inflict a defeat on 10-man Wolves.

Antoine Semenyo picked out Tavernier after a defensive mix-up, and his low shot took a wicked deflection off Emmanuel Agbadou before ending up in the net.

After the goal, both sides missed couple of chances with Semenyo and Djordje Petrovic being the biggest culprits for both sides respectively.

Things got worse for Wolves when Toti Gomes was shown a straight red card for bringing down Cherries striker Evanilson as last man.

Bournemouth will host Brentford in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday before travelling to high flying Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League next weekend while Wolves will be searching for their points this season when they welcome Everton to Molineux in their next league game on Saturday, after taking on West Ham in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
