August Conference: Mrs. Otti, Dr. Nwosu charges women to be resilient in community development.

The wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti

The wife of the Governor of Abia State, Mrs. Priscilla Otti has charged the women of Ugwunagbo Local Government Area of Abia State to remain resilient in their pursuit of peace for greater community development.

Mrs. Otti spoke during the 2025, Ugwunagbo Women August Conference today at the Local Government Council headquarters with the theme ‘Abia Women United in Strength, Empowered for Purpose’.

The Governor’s wife represented by the wife of Abia Deputy Speaker, Mrs. Eukeria Austin Meregini said that through farming and trading women in the community play a vibrant role in the economy of the state.

According to her, “As women let us strive to build a better home through unity of purpose, unite and empower each other, for such fuels our journey to success”.

Chairman on the occasion and the medical director, Carewell Health Services and Eye Clinic, Dr. Temple Ugochukwu Nwosu, praised the efforts and the achievement of Governor Otti so far in the State.

Dr. Ugochukwu, advocated for massive voter card registration among the women, care for their health, and get involved in the governance of the state.

He also requested that more rural roads, mini markets be constructed with more appointments to sons and daughters of Ugwunagbo, adding that these will accelerate development among the rural communities.

In an address, the Mayoress of the council, Mrs. Helen Ugochinyere, appreciated the wife of the Governor for her support to women in Abia.

She said that this year theme, “Abia Women: United in Strength, Empowered for Purpose” is a bold and timely reminder of the power that lies within us as women, and the incredible things we can achieve when we come together.

According to her, “it reflects not just our capacity to nurture and build homes, but to transform communities and shape the future of our State”.

Earlier, the Mayor of the council, Hon. Iheanacho Wagbara, had charged all residents of Ugwunagbo to continue to support one another and promote the ideals of love, peace, and prosperity as we work together to build a greater Abia with Governor Alex Otti.
