Abia D.Gov Commissions Community hall, Lauds Okegbue

 

Abians have been encouraged to join hands
in shaping their respective communities, as such, drives and promotes sustainable development, long-term economic growth, spurs innovation, strengthens and fosters social cohesion.

Speaking while commissioning a well designed town hall built and equipped by Chief Nzeribe Okegbue for his community in honour of his late mother, Mrs. Ugoma Beatrice Albert Okegbue, at Ndi Okoro village, Ikemba community, Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, the Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, called on other well meaning Abians to emulate what Chief Okegbue has done.

The Deputy Governor represented by the Commissioner for Boundary Matters, Chief Godwin Ndom, described Chief Okegbue as a great philanthropist who has the interest of his people at heart.

He said despite not being in government’s payroll,but for the love the benefactor has for his community,he is always spurred to do more for his people.

Representative of the Deputy Governor

Sir Oko Chukwu urged the community to make good use of the hall and as well, rally round to ensure that come 2023 general elections, that all the PDP candidates will win in their areas.

In their respective speeches, the Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Engr. Chinedum Orji and the Chairman, Ikwuano L.G.A, Chief Steve Mpamaugo, thanked Chief Nzeribe Okegbue for what he is doing for his people,in ensuring that he brings development and prayed God to bless him more.


They further commended him for the wonderful achievement, which they described as second to none in the history of the community.

Also in their respective remarks, the Chairman on the occasion and Abia State Chairman of PDP, Sir. Allwel Asiforo Okere and the Chairman Ikwuano Political Stakeholders Forum, Rear Admiral Raph Osondu Rtd, commended the benefactor for the laudable project done for his people.

They urged the Ikemba community to vote all PDP candidatea in the forthcoming general elections.

In his speech,Chief Nzeribe Okegbue thanked all for coming to identify with him and promised not to relent in developing his community, adding that soon,he would be commencing the building of an hospital for his people.

“I wish my mother is still live to see what God is doing through me, because she died 21 years ago. Some people also think that it is only when you are holding political position that you will do something for your people but you can do something even when you don’t hold any political post”, Okegbue pointed out.

The event which featured the presentation wrappers to indigent widows, cultural dances by Ndi Okoro women, attracted the presence of PDP Party faithful, traditional rulers, clergymen and other notable personalities.
