The Falconets of Nigeria completed their group matches of the on going FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica with a 3-1 demolition of Canada, thereby making it three wins out of three.
It was the Canadians, who had lost their two previous matches that drew the first blood just after two minutes through Kaila Novak.
Falconets responded with increased intensity and were rewarded with two penalties within ten minutes, which Esther Onyenezide converted to put Nigeria in front.
Chioma Olise put the icing on the cake with the third goal in stoppage time.
In other matches, France defeated South Korea by a lone goal while Netherlands hammered hapless Ghana 4-1.
Nigeria will take on high-scoring Netherlands in one of the quarter-finals on Saturday while France will confront Japan. Spain will tread tackles with Mexico while Colombia will lurk horns with Brazil in an all-South American affair.
