My Ordeal In Kidnappers Den- Freed Umuahia Based Journalist Chuks Onuoha Narrates

The kidnapped Umuahia based journalist Mr Chuks Onuoha who was released on Friday has narrated his ordeals while in captivity.

Mr Onuoha said the abductors were sent to kill him, but changed their minds after his wife pleaded with them and showed them their young kids.

He stated that they instead demanded for money in exchange for his life.

He told Ikoro News that they insisted that he has money, after showing them his debit card. They told him that he has acquired properties and that his wife is a palm oil dealer, should sell either of it and pay them .

He said when the money was not forthcoming they forced him into his car and drove out with him at about 11:00pm .

He said they took him to Imo state as the last location he saw before he was blindfolded was Isiala Mbano.

The veteran journalist said throughout his captivity he did not eat and was denied any use of proper convenience

He said his abductors freed him on Friday night when they brought him out of their den blindfolded, gave him three thousand naira (#3,000) for transportation back to Umuahia.

He said when he inquired about his car, they told him to go, promising that he will get it, but refused to give him his phone and sim card.

Mr Onuoha thanked God for his safe release and for reuniting with his family in good health.
