Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has flagged off the construction and reconstruction of Obohia-Ohuru Ndoki road with a firm assurance that the road will be completed soon.
The strategic road which connects Ukwa East, Ugwunagbo and Aba South Local Government Areas had for years remained deplorable as efforts made by the community to fix it during previous administrations did not yield the desired result.
Speaking at the formal flag off ceremony, Governor Ikpeazu
further assured that the road will be pursued vigorously with the urgency it deserves adding that it would automatically give relief to the three LGAs.
He stressed the need for youths of the area to cooperate with the contractor handling the project to ensure its timely completion.
The Governor tasked the benefitting Communities to own the project and protect its equipments.
Earlier, the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party,(PDP )Chief Asiforo Okere, while describing the project as one of the best things that will happen to the Communities,said that the 2KM Obohia road is very strategic as it links up the three LGAs of Ukwa East, Ugwunagbo and Aba South.
In his remarks, the traditional ruler of Ohuru, Eze Obinna Nwagbara noted that the road has remained deplorable since the time of Late Sam Mbakwe,adding that efforts to fix it has not yielded result.
He thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for flagging off the road which he said would give a great boost to the local government area of Ukwa East , Ugwunagbo and Aba South.
